Car manufacturing stands at 900,000 in 7 months

TEHRAN- Iranian carmakers manufactured 900,000 vehicles during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22), Deputy Industry Minister Mohsen Salehinia announced.
The official said achieving this output the country’s target for seven-month car manufacturing came true by 94 percent, Shata news agency reported.
Iran manufactured 1.3 million cars in the past calendar year. The figure is planned to hit 1.6 million by the end of the current calendar year (March 20, 2018).
The share of Iran’s auto industry in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to rise by 70 percent in the current Iranian year.
