Foreign investors’ trades in TSE up 47%
TEHRAN- In the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 22, 2017), the number of foreign investors’ trades in Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) increased by 47 percent, compared to the same period in the previous year, according to a TSE director.
As Hamid Rouhbakhsh, the director of public relations and international affairs of TSE, said 91 percent of foreign trades was made by the institutional investors in TSE during the four-month period, which indicates their more active presence in this market compared to the figure of 88 percent in the same time span last year, SENA news agency reported on Sunday.
Foreign investors are present in 36 industries in TSE, Rouhbakhsh added.
The first trading code was issued for a foreign shareholder in Iranian calendar year of 1373 (1994-95) to let it commence its activity in Iranian capital market while the number currently stands at 878 trading codes, the same report confirmed.
