Iran sitting volleyball one step away from eighth gold at Paralympics

PARIS – Iran men’s sitting volleyball team defeated Egypt 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 20-25, 25-8) in the 2024 Paralympic Games semifinals on Thursday.

Iran had previously defeated Ukraine, Brazil and Germany in Pool B.

Team Melli will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday at the North Paris Arena in the final match and Germany play Egypt in the bronze medal match.

Iran have won a record seven titles, including the last two, with Bosnia and Herzegovina winning twice. 

Iran’s mission in Paris is to capture their eighth Paralympic gold medal, adding to their impressive haul of seven gold and two silver medals from past Games.
