TEHRAN- Iran’s Judiciary spokesman pointed out that no one has been arrested regarding the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

Asghar Jahangir declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran will utilize all available internal and international resources to respond to the Israeli act of terrorism.

He added, “To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, and reports of arrests are unfounded lies.”

Jahangir emphasized, “The assassination of Martyr Haniyeh in Tehran will be met with a brave response by the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Islamic establishment will employ all internal and international capacities to counter the Israeli aggression.”

He stated that the U.S. role in supporting the Zionist regime is undeniable, providing grounds to sue Washington in international bodies.

Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, was assassinated along with his bodyguard in an Israeli attack on his residence on Wednesday, July 31.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, warned the Israeli regime of a “harsh response” to Haniyeh’s assassination, asserting that Iran must avenge the blood of the Palestinian Resistance leader.

“The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our homeland and left us bereaved, but it also set the ground for a harsh punishment for itself,” the Leader said.

By issuing a third statement on Saturday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps revealed more details about the assassination of the Hamas leader by the Israeli regime.

“This action was designed and implemented by the Zionist regime and supported by the U.S. criminal government,” the statement reads.

Investigations revealed that the terrorist operation involved firing a short-range projectile with a 7-kilogram warhead, resulting in a powerful explosion, from outside the vicinity of Haniyeh’s accommodation.

The IRGC also stressed that it would avenge Haniyeh’s blood, stating that the terrorist Zionist regime would face severe punishment at an appropriate time and place.

Ismail Haniyeh was a Palestinian politician who served as chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau from May 2017 until his assassination in July 2024. He also served as prime minister of the Palestinian National Authority from March 2006 until June 2014.
