Iranian official appointed FIFA match coordinator in 2024 Olympics

TEHRAN - Iran’s Hamed Momeni has been appointed by FIFA to officiate at Paris Olympic 2024.

The appointed official will serve as FIFA match coordinator at the Stade de Nice, hosting six Olympic Football matches including men and women’s competitions.

Currently holding the position of Deputy General Secretary at Iran Football Federation, Momeni is the only match coordinator representing 47 Asian football associations at the highly coveted Olympic Games.

FIFA heeds meticulous attention and exerts utmost scrutiny in selection of critical roles such as referees, match coordinators and commissioners for its major events including FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games.

Momeni has officiated in over 100 top-tier international matches across Asia as match commissioner, where his duties included selecting the Most Valuable Player of the match in international football.
