Wrestler Alizadeh takes silver at Hangzhou

TEHRAN – Greco-Roman wrestler Naser Alizadeh won a silver medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Wednesday.
The Iranian wrestler lost to Uzbekistan’s Jalgasbay Berdimurtov 7-4 in the final bout of men’s 87kg weight class.
Alizadeh first defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Atabek Azisbekov 7-1 and then emerged victorious over Turkmenistan’s Azym Annamammedov 7-1 and Indian Sunil Kumar 5-1 before reaching final.
With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
