TEHRAN – Iranian actor Mehdi Mahani has won the best actor award for his role in “Supine” at the 2018 Moscow Indie Film Festival, the organizers announced in December 2018.

He won the Best Matrioshka Actor award, and the Best Matrioshka Director Award went to Ye Zhou from China for “The Eighth of April on the Lunar Calendar”.

Written and directed by Shahram Asadzadeh, “Supine” centers on the life of a young drug addict named Shahrokh who is suffering from the direct consequence of addiction in his life.
