Voter turnout essential for national defense, asserts defense minister

TEHRAN- In a statement underscoring the significance of civic engagement, the Iranian Defense Minister emphasizes that robust participation in the forthcoming elections will serve as a crucial deterrent against external threats.

Addressing reporters during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani underscored the pivotal role of citizen involvement in safeguarding the nation's security. 

He stressed that active participation in the electoral process is imperative for fortifying the nation's defenses against potential adversaries.

Encouraging citizens to exercise their democratic rights, General Ashtiani urged the public to turn out in large numbers for the upcoming elections, emphasizing that their collective participation will bolster Iran's resilience against external pressures.

During the Bahman 22 rally commemorating the Islamic Revolution, General Ashtiani Highlighted the importance of public support for the country.

He emphasized the large turnout at the rally, describing the attendees as enthusiastic, revolutionary, and opposed to foreign enemies, and supportive of the underprivileged.

"As long as this support exists, we will undoubtedly achieve victory," he declared, linking public backing to the Iranian government's success.

He further asserted that the rally served as a message of solidarity with the Islamic Revolution and the Palestinian people, highlighting Iran's stance on both issues.
 
According to him, the high attendance confirms the Iranian people's opposition to "enemies of God and the domination system."

Finally, he expressed hope for high voter turnout in the upcoming elections, suggesting public participation remains crucial for the country's future.
