TEHRAN – In a decree on Tuesday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard as the new commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, Tasnim reported.

In his decree, Ayatollah Khamenei lauded General Sabahi-Fard for his experience, competence and commitment, saying he expects further progress, stability and also “effective interaction” of the air defense unit with the Army and other sections of the Armed Forces.

The Leader also thanked General Farzad Esmaili, the former commander of Khatam al-Anbia, for his efforts and services during his tenure.

Sabahi-Fard served as the deputy commander of Khatam al-Anbia before being appointed as the head of the air defense unit.
