TEHRAN – The Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that the regime will face retribution for its role in the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh on Iranian soil.

Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, speaking during a visit to the Shalamcheh border on Monday, emphasized that Iran will choose the appropriate time and place to deliver its response.

In his remarks to reporters, General Fadavi condemned the actions of "fake and child-killing Zionist regime," accusing Israel of continuing its "foolishness" by carrying out the assassination within the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He assured that Iran's response will be calculated and delivered when it is most effective.

Fadavi further elaborated on the gravity of the situation, stating, "The blood vengeance for Martyr Hanieh will not go unanswered. We will determine the timing and method of this punishment, and it is a certainty that it will be carried out."

The Deputy Commander also highlighted the growing anxiety within the occupied territories, where he claims the anticipation of an Iranian response has created a climate of fear more severe than the punishment itself.

According to Fadavi, the Zionist regime is bracing for Iran's retaliation around the clock.

In his concluding remarks, Brigadier General Fadavi reiterated that by assassinating Haniyeh, Israel has committed a significant crime.

He warned that this latest act of aggression will not go unpunished and that the response from Iran will be more severe than previous actions.

Haniyeh was martyred on July 31 while residing in the Iranian capital for President Pezeshkian's swearing-in ceremony. Israel is believed to be responsible for the act.

The regime waged its genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, after Hamas carried out its historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for Israel’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 40,139 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 92,609 others, according to reports from the battered enclave’s Health Ministry.

Over ten months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Successive rounds of talks have failed to broker a truce in the brutal Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
