"Strategic mistake": Iranian official warns Israel against launching war on Hezbollah

TEHRAN – A member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council and former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has reacted to Zionist threats against Hezbollah, describing war against the Lebanese movement as a strategic mistake for the Zionist regime.

Mohsen Rezaei stated on his social media account, “Netanyahu, out of desperation or madness, believes that by starting a war in Lebanon, can escape the quagmire of Gaza; however, he is stepping into a deeper quagmire.”

The Israeli military accused Hezbollah of attacking a football field in the northern occupied territories on Saturday, a claim denied by the Lebanese movement.

Hezbollah has denied any connection to the missile attack on the Majdal Shams area in the occupied Golan heights of Syria, which resulted in the deaths of 10 Israelis and injuries to at least 30 others.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Anif, the spokesman for Hezbollah, attributed the incident to a misfired missile of the Zionist regime’s Iron Dome defense system. Israeli eyewitnesses have also made the same attribution. The Iron Dome has mistakenly targeted Israeli positions several times in the past months.

Several Iranian officials have warned in recent weeks that any attack by the Zionist regime against Hezbollah would be met with a swift response from the Resistance Forces.
