TEHRAN- Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), on Thursday, said that Iran’s nuclear developments have proceeded well despite all plots and ploys of the enemies.

Speaking in an event on Thursday, Eslami noted that the foes have assassinated Iran's nuclear scientists, carried out industrial sabotage and used all capacities of international bodies to thwart Iran from developing in the field of nuclear technologies.

“The enemy is against Iran’s scientific and technological growth, making all attempts and conspiracies to hinder its way towards development,” he added.

The nuclear chief continued that Iran’s enemies have employed sanctions to debilitate the nation and disrupt progress, but their plans failed to bear fruit.

He also stressed that both science and technology as well as the presence of people can impede the domination of the global arrogance and can be considered as a source of strength.

Eslami said that power in the world is based on science and technology and people are regarded as a powerful capacity for any country.

He pointed out that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, has invariably emphasized on scientific foundations and technological progress in the country.

Last year, Eslami emphasized that the AEOI had operated in accordance with the strategic action law approved by the Iranian Parliament, which aims to pave the way for the lifting of sanctions on the country.

He pointed to the last report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which expressed concerns over unresolved nuclear issues in Iran, asserting that the report is politically biased and does not reflect the actual state of Iran's nuclear program.

"The relations between the IAEA and Iran are based on the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and safeguards, and the IAEA is fully inspecting Iran's nuclear program," Eslami clarified.

He urged the remaining parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the nuclear deal with Iran, to abide by their commitments, just as Iran has fully implemented its obligations.

He reiterated Iran’s commitment to the JCPOA’s objective of lifting sanctions, calling on the signatories to honor their commitments and cease coercive measures and attempts to undermine the agreement.

Regarding Iran’s agreement with the IAEA, Eslami highlighted that the three-paragraph document clearly states that Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA is within the framework of safeguards and the NPT.

Eslami reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering stance on its nuclear rights, stating, “Iran will not take a step back from its peaceful nuclear program.”
