TSE launches professional investment market
TEHRAN – The Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) has launched the country’s first professional investment market with the aim of financing major economic projects across the country, IRNA reported on Monday.
As reported, the market has been launched in line with TSE’s mission to play a more solemn role in the sustainable growth of the national economy, taking advantage of international experiences and paying attention to domestic potentials and requirements.
The ceremony for launching the mentioned market was attended by the Head of Iran’s Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO) Majid Eshqi.
Speaking at the ceremony, Eshqi said the capital market has a lot of capacity for financing economic projects.
“We hope that the professional investment market can play a good role in financing projects. This market exists in many countries and professional investors are organized in this market,” Eshqi said.
The official noted that lack of financing is one of the major problems of the Iranian economy, saying: “Launching this market is a good opportunity for the capital market to increase its share in financing various economic projects.”
According to Eshqi, in this market, various projects will be offered and investors will buy the share of the mentioned projects, and by doing so, the necessary resources for the completion of these projects will be easily provided.
“One of the advantages of offering projects in the capital market is providing monthly reports on a continuous basis, and in this regard, the board of directors must be accountable to public opinion,” he added.
According to the approved regulations, different types of products and financial institutions, including project management companies (public joint stock corporations), venture capitals, and private investment funds are listed and traded in the professional investment market of the Tehran Stock Exchange.
