Al Sadd have no option but to beat Persepolis: Jesualdo Ferreira
TEHRAN - Al Sadd football team coach Jesualdo Ferreira says they have come to Tehran to beat Persepolis and book a place in the final match of the AFC Champions League.
Al Sadd will meet the Iranian giants on Tuesday in the second leg of the AFC Champions League semi-final. Persepolis have defeated Al Sadd 1-0 in the first leg.
The 2011 champions face a difficult task to come away with a result from Azadi Stadium, but they are all too familiar with how to make it happen, having defeated Persepolis' arch rivals, Esteghlal, 3-1 in Tehran in the quarter-final first leg, before settling for a 2-2 draw in Doha to advance to the next step.
“We were the better team in the first leg but they won the match. We want to be in the final and have no option but to defeat Persepolis,” Ferreira said.
“Tomorrow match will be tough for both teams and our players know that they must fight until the final whistle. I hope the referee’s decisions will not go against us,” the Portuguese coach added.
“When the match starts, we will do everything we can do to win the match, that’s why we are here. It’s very easy, Persepolis also want to win the match,” Al Sadd coach stated.
