Annual income from free trade, industrial zones stands at $232b

TEHRAN – Iran’s free economic zones’ revenues reached 8.7 trillion rials (about $232 billion) in the past Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20, 2017), IRNA reported on Friday quoting a related official.

According to Mohammad Moezzeddin, a deputy at Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones, after the implementation of the nuclear deal (in January 2016)and the removal of the West-imposed sanctions more than 90 projects related to the free zones have been introduced to the foreign investors.
