Graphic designer Mehdi Fatehi honored at Sofia poster triennial

TEHRAN -- Iranian graphic designer Mehdi Fatehi has won the Prize for Young Author at the Eighth International Triennial of Stage Poster Sofia, Bulgaria.
Fatehi received the prize for a poster he designed for “The Killer”, Eugène Ionesco’s play staged by Iranian director Mohammad Fatehi in Tehran during winter 2014, the organizers have announced.
The prize is a bronze plaque, which is presented to the third winner in memory of Bulgarian artist Assen Stareyshinski.
The grand prix of the triennial went to Slovenian designer Radovan Jenko for his poster “Le Petit Festival, Dubrovnik”.
The organizers announce two winners for the second prize every year. This year’s winners were Miroslaw Adamczyk from Poland and Michel Bouvet from France.
The winners were announced during a ceremony on October 7. A selection of the posters submitted to the triennial is currently on display in an exhibition at the National Exhibition Center of Modern Art in Sofia.
Iranian graphic designers Mohammad Afshar, Saeid Rezvani, Mehdi Mahdian and Hamed Mehravaran also competed in the event.
