TEHRAN – The chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has said Russia's military aid to Syria, specially deployment of its state-of-the-art air defense systems in that country, has improved the situation there and reduced the U.S. role in that country.

“America backed down from its stances after Russia deployed its S-400 air defense system in Syria,” Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Monday, the Mashreq news agency reported.
