IAHC to complete 60 projects by March ’09

TEHRAN –Iran Airports Holding Company (IAHC) Managing Director Ahmad Momenirokh said here on Tuesday that 60 airport projects will be completed by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2009).

He noted that 93 million dollars has been allocated to the projects underway in 30 airports, IRNA reported.
Momenirokh expressed satisfaction over airport services and said 31 million dollars is allocated for services improvement.
There are now 54 airports in the country: 8 international, 21 air border, and 25 internal airports, he said.
In the first half of the current Iranian year, passenger transport increased 8 percent compared to the same period of the last year, Momenirokh stated.
The Mehr News Agency on October 3 quoted the IAHC deputy director Ali Golmohammadi saying that there are over a hundred incomplete plans and infrastructure projects in the air transportation sector, completion of which will remove many problems in the domestic aviation industry.
