TEHRAN – Iran’s vice president in strategic affairs emphasized Iran's determination to stand firm against all enemies and defend its sovereignty, even in the face of potential Israeli military retaliation.

Mohammad Javad Zarif shared his sentiments on the social media platform X, stating, “I express my deepest sympathies for the martyrdom of the courageous defenders of our army who stood firm against the Zionist aggressors. I wish strength and pride to their families.” 

Zarif remarked, “Today, bolstered by the faith, bravery, and wisdom of the late Imam and our esteemed leader, along with the courage and sacrifices of our armed forces, including the army, IRGC, and police, our resilient nation has demonstrated that it can make the reckless aggressors, despite the extensive military, political, and propaganda backing from global tyrants, and will not shy away from defending this sacred land.”

The strategic advisor of the president further stated, “Currently, the Iranian government and its people, confident in their capabilities to confront threats from malicious foes, will adopt a modern and opportunity-focused approach to elevate Iran's rightful status in promoting the welfare of its citizens, ensuring regional security, engaging in global markets, and advancing science and technology for national and regional development, as well as for economic, scientific, social, and political progress.”

Zarif underscored that the international community must acknowledge Iran's courageous self-belief and commitment to peace by moving beyond outdated paradigms, denouncing Israel's recent aggression, and working alongside Iran to put an end to apartheid, genocide, and atrocities in Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon, seizing this exceptional opportunity.
