TEHRAN – First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref has declared that no external threat would deter the country from pursuing its strategic goals.

Speaking on Monday, Aref dismissed the notion that threats could sway Iran’s leadership or undermine its progress. 

“Threats are nothing more than a joke to us,” Aref remarked. “Over the past 40 years, we have shown that no threat can force us to retreat from our plans or objectives. We will continue our path with unshakable determination.”

Aref's comments reflect Iran’s longstanding stance of resistance against pressure from foreign adversaries, particularly in the face of mounting challenges. His words resonate with the country's broader narrative of defiance, as it continues to face international sanctions and geopolitical tensions.

Turning to the martyrdom of Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, Aref expressed Iran’s deep sorrow but emphasized that such losses only strengthen the resolve of Resistance forces. 

“We have experienced many heavy sorrows like this, but history shows that after each profound sorrow, a great victory and stronger unity emerge. This martyrdom will further reinforce the cohesion and unity among the fighters,” he noted.

Nasrallah was martyred during an Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut on September 27. The attacks also claimed the life of top Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforooshan.

On October 1st, Iran carried out a retaliatory attack against the Israeli regime in response to the assassination of key regional figures.

The military operation, dubbed "Operation True Promise II," saw a reported 90% of Iranian missiles successfully hit their intended targets at the occupied territories. The strike was noted as a direct retaliation for Israel's actions, and it underscored Iran’s resolve to respond forcefully to Israeli acts of aggression.
