TEHRAN – President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran asserted on Sunday afternoon that Israel’s crimes are unacceptable and “will not go unpunished”.

The remarks by the Iranian president came one day after Hezbollah officially confirmed that its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had been martyred in the Israeli massive airstrikes on the suburbs of Beirut late on Friday.

The attack on the Hezbollah leaders was ordered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from New York, where he was addressing the annual UN General Assembly.

The president said even though a response to such “professional criminals” is imperative history has shown that liberation movements will not vanish with the assassination of individuals and instead tens of other persons will rise to continue their path against oppression and defend justice.
