Bust of late Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian displayed in Tehran
TEHRAN – The Society for the Defense of Palestinian Nation (SDPN) unveiled a bust of the late Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Tuesday, in a ceremony attended by high-ranking Iranian officials.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, who spoke at the ceremony, lauded Amir Abdollahian's efforts to strengthen Resistance forces across the West Asian region. "He was the voice of the oppressed Palestinians and the oppressed nations in the region," Kanaani stated, adding, "He was the voice of Palestine in international forums and the most relevant international meetings."
Kanaani went on to highlight Amir Abdollahian's unwavering support for the Resistance, quoting the late Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh: "He told me himself that Martyr Amir Abdollahian is not the foreign minister of Iran. Rather, he is the foreign minister of the entire Axis of Resistance."
Amir Abdollahian, according to Kanaani, "did not hesitate to defend the Resistance and hold meetings with top officials of other countries and international organizations, as well as foreign ministers of non-aligned countries and supporters of the regime."
Amir Abdollahian lost his life on May 19, during a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran. the aircraft carrying the top diplomat also had the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on board.
