TEHRAN- A member of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Gaza has underlined that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has deceived the latest round of ceasefire talks in Doha despite efforts by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Political Bureau in Gaza, says Israel aborted the Doha negotiations and the efforts of mediators, and there was no progress. He added that no contentious issues were resolved during the negotiations.

Hamad stated that no agreement could be reached without a complete ceasefire, withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, the return of displaced persons, and the establishment of a prisoner exchange deal.

The Hamas official emphasized that the movement’s position is strong and firm, and is agreed upon by all Palestinian factions. "We will not enter into any more futile negotiations," he added, noting that Netanyahu went down the path of deception and did not provide answers to all the questions raised to reach an agreement.

"Netanyahu is setting new conditions and undermining what was previously agreed upon, with the goal of continuing the war."

Hamad pointed out that "Netanyahu explicitly confirmed that he would not stop the war."

Regarding the proposed agreement, Hamad said it contained no ambiguity, but the Israeli delegation was procrastinating in providing an answer over the proposal. 

He noted that "the [Israeli] occupation has brought new conditions related to the 14-kilometer border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, after an earlier agreement on the complete Israeli withdrawal from it."

Hamad pointed out that "the resistance will not allow the occupation to exist in any part of the Gaza Strip in any form," denying the accuracy of a report by The Wall Street Journal, which indicated Israeli readiness to withdraw from the border. 

He clarified that Tel Aviv seeks to keep a loophole in the ceasefire framework to allow it to return to bombarding the Strip at a later time, stressing the need for mediators to exert pressure on the Israelis to agree to what was previously agreed upon.

Regarding Hezbollah's and Iran’s responses to Israeli war crimes after targeting commander Fouad Shukor in the southern suburbs of Beirut and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hamad said, "Hezbollah and Iran have every right to respond to the occupation's crimes, and this path is separate from the negotiations".

Hamad added, "Washington is convinced that Netanyahu is an obstacle to reaching an agreement, and it should hold him accountable if the conflict in the region escalates."

He also said many in the Arab world need to "break the wall of silence" and come out in solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating that "we have not witnessed Israeli arrogance like this for centuries".

A statement released earlier Saturday in Doha said, "The United States with support from Egypt and Qatar, presented to both parties a bridging proposal."

The statement further read that working teams would continue to address the technical details, including humanitarian provisions and arrangements for prisoners and captives, over the coming days. Senior officials are expected to reconvene in Cairo "before the end of next week with the aim to conclude the deal under the terms put forward today."

On the 317th day of the U.S.-backed genocidal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the occupation forces have bombarded Gaza City and Khan Younis with what has been described as vicious intensity. 

Reports say Israeli fighter jets committing further massacres against the people of the area. Early it bombarded various parts across the Strip.

According to Hamas, around 10,000 victims of Israeli airstrikes are still trapped in collapsed buildings due to a lack of heavy equipment or fuel needed to dig through the steel and concrete rubble in search of them.

Critics have accused the United States and the Israeli occupation of announcing new rounds of negotiations whilst bombarding Palestinian families at the same time. Analysts have also slammed the U.S. for proposing a new round of negotiations, saying the talks are a ploy to pin the blame on Iran for the collapse of the talks if Iran retaliates against Israel for the assassination of Ismael Haniyeh in the capital Tehran on July 31. 

The Israeli terrorist attack was a violation of a UN member’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. 

Furthermore, Hamas has already agreed to previous ceasefire agreements on two occasions, whilst Netanyahu has prevented Israeli delegations from clinching a deal to end the Gaza genocide to avoid prosecution. 
The Israeli premier is also accused of attempting to drag the region into a full-scale war.
