TEHRAN – The commander of the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a Sunday gathering of military officials that Iran’s armed forces have identified multiple terrorist breeding centers in neighboring countries, where criminals are nurtured and rented out for terrorist purposes.

While hailing the achievement, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour emphasized the critical importance of identifying and neutralizing terrorist threats to safeguard the security of the Iranian people.

General Pakpour stated, "A series of overt and covert actions are taking place in the IRGC Ground Force that has so far stifled many threats." He highlighted the relentless efforts of the IRGC Ground Force in countering terrorist plots aimed at destabilizing the peace and security of the nation.

The military commander underscored the continuous challenges posed by the enemy's terrorist designs, noting that despite the successful thwarting of previous plots, new threats continue to emerge. “The importance of the current actions of the IRGC Ground Force is such that if some of the enemy's terrorist designs were not identified and dealt with, heavy and extensive damages would have affected the security of the people, resulting in significant human casualties,” he emphasized. 

General Pakpour raised concerns about the enemy's utilization of terrorist groups like Daesh and Salafis in the region, adding that Iran’s foreign enemies are responsible for equipping, preparing, guiding, and organizing these terrorists. 

The commander also pointed out that in recent terrorist attacks in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province, all individuals mobilized to carry out the terror acts were foreign nationals. “In a series of terrorist activities that took place in Sistan and Baluchestan province a while ago, 30 individuals employed as trained terrorists with ideologies and teachings of Daesh and Salafis had completely foreign identities,” he said.
