Iran possesses advance air defense capabilities: commander
TEHRAN – The chief commander of Iran’s Air Defense Force says the nation's air defense capabilities have reached a pinnacle of maturity.
Addressing the Air Defense Forces staff in Tehran on Thursday, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard underscored the pivotal role played by talented youth in propelling advancements in air defense capabilities.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of the achievement, Sabahifard stressed that comprehensive infrastructure and resources have been diligently provided to harness the full potential of the country's youth, both within and beyond the armed forces, facilitating their attainment of scientific peaks.
Moreover, Sabahifard highlighted that a substantial portion of the armed forces' strength, is indebted to the activities of dedicated personnel. “The primary focus remains on the training of specialized and intelligent human resources, with air defense taking precedence,” he added.
In a comparative analysis of the roles of soldiers in Iran versus those in other countries, the general accentuated that Iranian soldiers go beyond the conventional responsibilities of safeguarding territorial integrity and borders. He stated, “Our soldiers undergo a rigorous training regimen, guided by divine and lofty objectives. This includes promoting independence, accepting responsibility, fostering societal integration, maintaining order, exhibiting continuous efforts, and demonstrating readiness to contribute meaningfully to society.”
Iranian authorities have consistently stated their commitment to enhancing the country's military capabilities, with a clear focus on defensive purposes. They have asserted that Iran's defense capabilities are non-negotiable and will not be subject to discussions.
