TEHRAN - President Ebrahim Raisi underscored on Tuesday the vital role of scientific and knowledge-based endeavors in ensuring the resilience of the Islamic Revolution.
Addressing a gathering of professors, faculty members, and researchers, President Raisi drew attention to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution's call for transformative initiatives at the dawn of the new Persian year.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to spearheading transformation, he identified universities as pivotal drivers for effecting change. He urged a thorough review of university actions and activities, commending the mission-oriented approach of Imam Hossein University as a noteworthy example of success.
Highlighting the shift from an essay-oriented to a problem-oriented approach at the university, President Raisi acknowledged the importance of essay and science production. However, he stressed that their impact is truly meaningful when they contribute to society's skill development.
The Iranian president identified a significant gap in the country's universities and scientific centers, noting the insufficient emphasis on skill training alongside theoretical learning. He cautioned that neglecting this aspect leads to implementation challenges for students.
Addressing universities and scientific centers, President Raisi emphasized the imperative of nurturing efficient, skilled, cultured, and committed human resources. He stated that universities should play a central role in shaping knowledgeable and skilled individuals, underscoring the need for human resources equipped with both knowledge and practical abilities.
Regarding the production of science and knowledge, President Raisi asserted the importance of training a well-rounded workforce capable of utilizing new technologies for the country's development. He contended that universities could meet this demand through a transformative approach.
Despite the challenges posed by threats and sanctions, President Raisi emphasized that dedicated efforts have led to substantial progress in both the military and nuclear domains.
