Celebration of traditional craftsmanship: Kilims exhibition coming soon to Harsin
TEHRAN - In a celebration of the rich tradition of Kilims weaving, Harsin, a picturesque town in the western province of Kermanshah, is set to host an exhibition showcasing the exquisite hand-woven floorings that have made the town renowned.
Harsin stands as one of the most significant hubs for Kilims production in Iran, and its weavers have earned a distinguished reputation for their craft skills, CHTN reported.
The upcoming exhibition aims to highlight the cultural significance and artistic brilliance of these traditional floor coverings, providing a platform for both locals and visitors to appreciate the intricate designs and vibrant colors that characterize Harsin Kilims.
According to organizers, Harsin Kilims are not just products; they are a reflection of the region's identity and cultural heritage.
As mentioned by Visit Iran, the know-how of Harsin's Kilims has passed from one generation to another and can be divided into four groups of figurative, animal, floral, and geometric motifs. Each particular design has its local name and is completely inspired by the natural environment and habitat of Harsin.
Handmade Persian carpets are sought after internationally for their delicate designs and their good quality. They are almost expensive, but they are worth every penny!
