Iranian Navy pursuing defense diplomacy at highest level: Navy chief
TEHRAN- Iran's Navy Chief, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, has highlighted the importance of “defense diplomacy and international relations,” stating that they are both being pursued at the highest level.
Speaking at the Friday prayer, Read Admiral Irani pointed out that the Iranian Navy has progressed due to its use of domestic knowledge, the Iranian human resources, and the guidance of the Commander-in-Chief.
He said, “Thanks to the Islamic Revolution, not only in southern seas but also in the Caspian Sea, Iran has showcased its latest progress,” adding that the Deylaman destroyer is serving its mission in the Caspian Sea.
According to the Iranian commander, Iranian Navy is interested in establishing defense diplomacy and international relations, which are being carried out “at the highest level.”
“There is no place in the world where the flag of the Islamic Republic is not raised, we have raised the flag of the country in the most beautiful form,” the commander said.
Referring to security provided at the highest level for maritime trade, he said, “Today, we have the honor that Jamaran destroyer navigates in the Gulf of Aden.”
He lauded the efforts of the Iranian youth, saying “As a soldier, I am proud of each and every young person who is trying to implement the goals of the Commander-in-Chief in a bid to boost the strength and power of Iran.”
The commander also referred to the responsibility of the Alborz destroyer to ensure security in the Red Sea.
According to the Navy chief, the sea-based economy is ensured with assistance from the Iranian Navy and the sailors who contribute to the prosperity of the country's economy.
