Iran Parliament speaker expresses condolences on martyrdom of Abbas Raad
TEHRAN- Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a message on Monday, expressing condolences over the martyrdom of Abbas Mohammad Raad, the son of Hezbollah parliament leader Mohammed Raad.
The son of Hezbollah’s parliamentary leader in the Lebanese legislative body was killed in an Israeli airstrike early Thursday morning local time.
Lebanese news outlet LBCI reported that Abbas Raad, the son of Mohammad Raad, was killed in an Israeli strike in Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.
Senior Hezbollah officials spoke at the commemoration of Martyr Abbas "Siraj" Raad, who was killed by Israeli occupation forces on the path of al-Quds.
The father of the fighter in Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, Mohammad Raad, spoke during the event, hoping that the martyrdom of Siraj would be a chance "to achieve national unity for the realization of security, safety, freedom, dignity, sovereignty, and strength for Lebanon."
He added that the Islamic Resistance, with all that it has accomplished under its current leadership, seeks goodness and justice for the Lebanese people. He expressed his pride in the Resistance and its Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and thanked those who congratulated him on his son's martyrdom and those who consoled his family.
Iranian Parliament speaker, in a letter to Mohammad Raad on Monday, also expressed condolences to the family of Abbas Raad.
“I received the news of the honorable martyrdom of Abbas Raad, your Mujaheed son, who was killed by the usurping and occupying Zionist regime,” Ghalibaf said.
“I express Iranian parliament’s sympathies and condolences to you,” he added.
In his address to Mohammad Raad, Ghalibaf paid tribute, saying “I pray to the Almighty God for that martyr and ask for patience for you and your family.”
