Composer Hushang Kamkar’s new album “Memories of My Youth” released
TEHRAN – “Memories of My Youth”, the latest album by the celebrated Iranian composer Hushang Kamkar, who is the leader of the Kamkars ensemble, has recently been released.
Featuring Kamkar’s own composition and arrangement, the album includes six pieces written for symphony orchestra and Iranian instruments, ILNA reported on Tuesday.
Arsalan Kamkar on violin and viola, Ardeshir Kamkar on kamancheh, and Ali Jafari Puyan and Sohrab Barahmandi on viola have come together to create this album, the report added.
Other artists including Negar Norad on cello, Ehsan Emami on tar, and Keyvan Nolachini on dotar player are also present in this album.
The Kamkars, led by Hushang Kamkar, is a Kurdish family of seven brothers and a sister, who have performed numerous concerts in the country and around the world and have released a number of music albums including “In Memory of Hafez”, “Darya”, “In Memory of Saba”, “Living Fire”, “Nightingale with a Broken Wing”, “Chant of Drums” and “Music from Kurdistan”.
Hushang, who has studied music in Italy and the U.S., was a university professor for over ten years. He is one of the members of the Iran House of Music.
