Palestinians destroy Israeli military’s hegemony with limited equipment: General
TEHRAN – General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the deputy chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, has said that the Palestinian resistance groups have challenged the Israeli military with their limited equipment.
“In the war in Gaza, we see how cheap resistance rockets have challenged the very advanced and expensive system of the Iron Dome,” Nasirzadeh said, according to IRNA.
“The war in Gaza has clearly demonstrated the front of right and wrong, and the Palestinian people were able to destroy a claimant army with limited equipment,” the general pointed out.
He added, “On the contrary, with cowardice and the use of prohibited weapons, they [Israelis] kill the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza and commit the ‘biggest crimes against humanity’.”
General Nasirzadeh was speaking at a gathering of drone experts of the Iranian army.
He went on to say, “War has a violent and hateful meaning, but it is not an option and we must be ready. The nature of war has been preserved throughout history, but its concepts have changed, and we see concepts such as hybrid war and electronic war.”
The deputy military chief said, “Today, war has assumed different dimensions, and we, who operate under the conditions of war, should not neglect new technologies and future wars.”
The war in Gaza broke out two weeks ago when Israel began shelling the Gaza Strip following an attack by the Palestinian resistance factions against Israeli sites. So far, the Israeli regime has dropped nearly 12,000 bombs over the Gazans, creating a huge humanitarian crisis.
Israel had bombarded the crossing in the early hours of its shelling campaign against the Gaza Strip, shutting down operations at the egress for travel and trade. Since October 7, Israel stubbornly rejected all calls for reopening the Rafah crossing, all while deliberately creating a humanitarian crisis by cutting off the flow of water, fuel, food, and electricity into the besieged enclave.
To make things even worse, Israel began intently bombing hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, and other civilian properties which served as a shelter for civilians fleeing heavy bombardment. On 17 October, Israel committed a heinous crime that shocked the world to the core, bombing a Christian hospital – Al Ahli- which resulted in the killing of hundreds of civilians, mostly injured and patients. The magnitude of the crime was so abhorrent that the Israeli authorities quickly walked back their statements confirming their bombardment of the hospital and ultimately blamed the targeting of the hospital on a Palestinian resistance group “misfired” rocket.
