TEHRAN – The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament issued a statement on Saturday condemning the South Korean parliament’s interference in Iran’s internal affairs through its support for the rioters, asking the Foreign Ministry to review relations with Seoul in different areas.

“In continuation of the anti-Iran behaviors of the officials of South Korea we have unfortunately witnessed the issuance of biased statement of this country’s parliament against the Iranian people and supporting the rioters, who have been endangering the life and security of the people of Iran,” the parliamentary committee stated.

The Korean parliament backed the rioters while the country has frozen large sums of the Iranian assets in line with Washington’s anti-Iran sanctions and is refusing to release them, it added.

“This action (freezing the assets) is in fact considered a plundering of the Iranian nation’s financial resources,” part of the statement said.

The parliamentary committee said such moves will surely affect relations between the two countries in different areas.

“Undoubtedly, the continuation of anti-Iran policies of Seoul in tandem with the White House against the Iranian nation will affect the interaction between the two countries in different areas, and the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) will take necessary measures in line with restoration of the rights of the Iranian nation by using its legal and supervisory capacities,” the statement concluded.
