TEHRAN – The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) held a maneuver over the Persian Gulf on Tuesday.

Two Thunder, three F-4 and two F-14 fighter jets and one PC-7 trainer aircraft were involved in the exercise over the geostrategic waterway.

The drill was held on the second day of the 9th International Iran Air Show, which was launched on Kish Island on Monday. 

The air show was attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami and some other military and civilian officials.

The four-day exhibition is the most important event in Iran’s aviation and aerospace industries. It is being held every two years. It provides a platform for participants to showcase the latest achievements in aviation and aerospace industries.

The airshow secretary, Bijan Bonakdar, said on Monday that 105 Iranian and 10 foreign companies are participating in the event, according to Press TV.

He added that the participants are showcasing their newest advances in aviation and aerospace industries at a time that the U.S. is mounting pressure on other countries to abide by its policies on Iran.
