“Damascus Time” director Hatamikia meets Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in Iraq
TEHRAN – “Damascus Time” director Ebrahim Hatamikia met Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a high-ranking commander of the Popular Mobilization Units – Hashd al-Shaabi, in Iraq and both sat to watch the movie about the Daesh terrorists, the Persian service of MNA reported on Monday.
“The film is highly successful in depicting an accurate and documented image of the Daesh atrocities and their seditious actions,” Al-Muhandis told Hatamikia after watching the movie.
“I hope making resistance-themed and anti-Daesh films continues in the region,” he added.
Hatamikia is in Iraq to promote his latest drama “Damascus Time” in the country, which has fought the Daesh terrorists over the past few years.
The film is about an Iranian pilot and his copilot son who are captured by Daesh forces in Syria while they are in the country to deliver a cargo of humanitarian relief supplies to people in a war-torn region.
Earlier in February, Hatamikia won the Crystal Simorgh for best director at the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran for the film.
