“Daughter” stars honored at PIFFA Supreme Awards
TEHRAN – Farhad Aslani and Mahur Alvand, the stars of Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi’s acclaimed drama “Daughter”, were honored at the PIFFA Supreme Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Monday.
Aslani received the PIFFA Supreme Best Actor Award, while Alvand won the PIFFA Supreme Best Newcomer Award, the organizers announced.
“Daughter” was nominated in seven categories, including best screenwriter, best cinematography, best film editor and best film.
The film, which is about the clash between generations, tells the story of Mr. Azizi, an engineer for the Abadan Oil Refining Company who is making arrangements for an engagement party for one of his daughters while his other daughter, Setareh, plans to leave Abadan to attend her friend’s goodbye party in Tehran.
