Encyclopedist Ali Mohammadkhan Mohammadi dies at 62
TEHRAN – Ali Mohammadkhan Mohammadi, encyclopedist, writer and translator has died at the age of 62, the Ferdowsi Foundation announced on Sunday.
The scholar, who was a former member of the board of directors of the Ferdowsi Foundation, was battling cancer (the type of the caner not revealed in the news) for several years.
His memorial service will be held on Friday in the Rasul Mosque located in Sadatabad neighborhood. He was buried in the Luminaries Section of Tehran’s Behesht Zahra Cemetery on Monday, accompanied by a large number of cultural and scientific scholars.
Mohammadi was the compiler of several encyclopedias on aerospace, while he was also the writer and translator of several scientific books.
He was also active in the field of Persian literature and was a member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature.
