AEK Athens interested in signing Karim Ansarifard
AEK Athens F.C. has shown interest in signing Panionios striker Karim Ansarifard.
Panionios is ready for the negotiations but the Iranian international striker has a release clause worth 400,000 in his contract.
The Greek Giant has to pay the clause to sign Ansarifard in the January transfer window.
Ansarifard has been heavily linked with Olympiakos, Panathinaikos and PAOK.
Panionios owner, Nikos Zamanis, has already said PAOK is in talks to sign Ansarifard.
Speaking to Metropolis 95.5 FM, Zamanis said that Panionios and PAOK have started negotiating the deal and the talks are ongoing.
“There are talks with PAOK but nothing is done yet. We need to speak to the player and his agent as well. His contract runs out over the summer but there is a right to extend it,” Zamanis said.
Ansarifard joined Greek Superleague club Panionios from Osasuna in 2015.
Former Persepolis attacker has played 39 times for Panionios and scored 13 goals.
He has so far amassed 54 appearances for Iran national football team, scoring 14 goals.
