Tehran gallery to showcase rarely-seen photos by Kaveh Golestan

TEHRAN – A collection of rarely-seen photos by the Iranian photojournalist Kaveh Golestan will go on display during a two-day exhibit, which opens to the public this Wednesday at Shirin Gallery in Tehran.

The collection comprises various photos on the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, and Iranian working-class people, his widow, Hengameh Golestan, told the Persian service of ISNA on Saturday. 

As a freelance photographer, Golestan also documented scenes of Iraq’s chemical attack on the Kurdish town of Halabja in 1988. 

Golestan was killed by a landmine in Iraq at the age of 51 whilst working for the BBC. He was 52.
