TEHRAN – During a trilateral meeting in the northern Iranian city of Ramsar, Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan signed two MoUs.

One was a joint statement which emphasizes the agreements that the three countries have to carry out, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a presser at the end of the meeting.

The other document was a two-year cooperation document that enumerates the actions that the sides have to perform, he said.

According to Zarif, the agreements include security, international law, transit, energy, tourism, and culture.

Joint statement

The joint statement between Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey also addressed the JCPOA, inviting all countries to welcome the deal and act responsibly toward its implementation.

It also called for an immediate end to the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict.

The statement also called for comprehensive efforts to fight regional terrorism, extremism, and sectarian division.

It nonetheless stressed cooperation among the attending sides within regional organizations such as the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
