Belarussian President Visits Kish

KISH ISLAND - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko visited several inudstrial complexes and tourist facilities in Kish Free Trade Zone on Sunday. Electronics and dye manufacturing as well as toy production plants were among centers visited by Lukashenko. Belarussian Parliament speaker, the country's foreign minister and some 20 reporters accompanied Lukashenko in the visit. Iran's Presidential Advisor Alireza Mo'ayeri told IRNA that the delegation is visiting Kish to explore possible investment opportunities in Iranian free trade zones and to set up air link between Minsk and Kish. An earlier report said that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Kish Island Monday morning and was greeted by the Director General of Kish Free Trade Zone, Mohammad Reza Yazdanpanah. The purpose of Lukashenko's trip is to review and assess the island's facilities and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Yazdanpanah told IRNA that the visit of the Belarus president provides an opportunity to discuss cooperation and joint investment in industrial, trade and tourism with the high-ranking Belarus delegation. (IRNA)
