ChinaBus Accident Kills 36 People

BEIJING -- Thirty-six people were killed when a double-decker bus plunged into a reservoir in a popular tourist area in southwest China, the ***Beijing Morning Post*** reported on Saturday. It said rescuers could pluck only 14 of the 50 passengers alive from the Lehuang reservoir near the city of Guilin in a region famed for its limestone topography and one of China's top tourist destinations. The newspaper said police were investigating the accident, which happened in the early hours of Friday and gave no indication of how it might have occurred.
