Syria, Turkey Sign Accord to Combat Terrorism

DAMASCUS -- Syria and Turkey have signed a security agreement here to cooperate in the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration, the government daily ***Tishrin*** reported Tuesday. The first deal, dealing with crime and terrorism, commits both countries to "take effective steps to prevent any act targeting the security of the other," ***Tishrin*** said. The accord envisions each country repatriating illegal immigrants. The two deals were signed Monday by Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad Harba and his Turkish counterpart, Rustu Kazim Yucelen.
