TEHRAN An Iranian university student, who is a senior majoring in applied physics, has designed and built a solar power system which transforms solar energy into electricity.
The unit was installed in the physics laboratory of the Science Faculty of the Lorestan Shahid Beheshti University on Monday and put into operation.
Mahdi Sattari, who designed the system, said, "The three- month applied survey plan was carried out with the cooperation of the Lorestan Shahid Beheshti University and the physics department of the Science Faculty." He added that the project had cost more than Rls.14 million.
"The system has been built only for the use of physics students conducting scientific research. The system had been imported for research work at a high cost during previous years," Sattari said.
