Shahid Sattari Aviation University is Iran’s drone hub: general
TEHRAN- Brigadier General Majid Fakhri, the head of the Geographical Organization of the Armed Forces, has hailed Shahid Sattari Aviation University as a leading center for space and drone technology in Iran.
General Fakhri also said, “Locational information is of particular importance in all wars, and military students and commanders must have locational information to be successful on the battlefield,” the general noted.
He pointed out that military students and commanders must possess accurate locational information to achieve success on the battlefield, underscoring the strategic significance of the university's contributions.
During a meeting with Brigadier General Majid Fakhri, Brigadier General Marvi Nam, the head of Shahid Sattari University underscored the significant advancements in drone technology achieved at the university.
According to the general, Shahid Sattari Aviation University provides comprehensive training to students, covering all stages of drone operations. He highlighted the diverse applications of drones, extending beyond military purposes to include mapping urban areas, towns, and remote, hard-to-access regions. Notably, the high-speed capabilities of drones in mapping non-urban areas were recognized as a key advantage.
Furthermore, General Marvi Nam emphasized the critical role of drones in aerial knowledge, particularly in remote evaluation, positioning systems, and navigation, where satellite data is essential. He expressed confidence that continued synergy and specialized meetings with experts would further enhance the university's capabilities.
