Israeli aggression claims lives of dozens of Yemeni journalists amid media office attacks

The Israeli airstrikes on September 10, 2025, devastated media headquarters and civilian areas in Yemen’s capital Sanaa and al-Jawf province, killing 31 journalists and injuring dozens more, according to Yemen’s health ministry and media unions.

The strikes specifically targeted the offices of the 26 September and Al-Yemen newspapers in Sanaa’s densely populated al-Tahrir district, leveling the buildings and causing significant collateral damage to surrounding residential neighborhoods.

The 26 September newspaper is the official media outlet of Yemen’s Ansarallah. The staff were reportedly preparing the weekly edition when the powerful explosions struck, resulting in great loss among civilian journalists and other residents, including women and children.

Israeli forces declared the strikes targeted military sites such as camps, the Ansarallah public relations department, and fuel storage facilities as a retaliation for recent drone and missile attacks launched by the resistance group into Israeli territory.

In response, Yemeni armed forces announced an attack on an Israeli military target in the Negev desert using ballistic missiles and drones, pledging to continue their resistance until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the "genocide" comes to an end.
