Israel’s latest Yemen assault kills 46 amid vows of continued Yemeni resistance

Israel’s Wednesday airstrikes on Sanaa and Al-Jawf killed 46 people and injured 165, with Yemeni authorities reporting that civilian sites — including a medical station, newspaper offices, and the Al-Hazm government complex — were deliberately targeted.

The attack followed the August 28 assassination of Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and members of his cabinet in an Israeli strike on the capital.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said air defenses launched surface-to-air missiles that forced back “combat formations,” while Tel Aviv’s War Minister Israel Katz claimed the raids hit “military camps” and “propaganda sites.”

The aggression came just days after Yemeni drones breached Israeli defenses and struck Ramon Airport in the southern Negev.

As part of its vowed response to Israeli aggression, the Yemeni army announced in a Thursday statement it had struck an Israeli military target in the Negev with a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile. The statement also detailed a three-drone operation — two targeting Ramon Airport and another hitting a military site in the Negev — which the the Yemeni army said achieved all objectives.

Sanaa has vowed to continue operations until the genocide in Gaza ends and the siege is lifted, describing its actions as both a defense of Yemen’s sovereignty and a moral duty to stand with the Palestinian people.
