TEHRAN – The Quds base of the IRGC Ground Force has released a statement confirming that five members of the Basij volunteer force were martyred in a terrorist attack in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

The statement detailed, “A few hours ago, a terrorist incident occurred in the Sirkan area of Saravan city, resulting in the martyrdom of five Basij members.”

Following the attack, units stationed in the area were promptly deployed, and efforts to apprehend the perpetrators by the Islamic fighters are ongoing.

“The IRGC is conducting an investigation into the incident and is committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable,” the statement concluded.

The announcement also provided the names of the martyrs from this tragic incident: Abdulrahman Balochzahi, Shah Bakhsh Balochzahi, Abdullah Balochzahi, Balochzahi unit, and Bashir Sepahi.

In recent years, the border area of Saravan in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan Province has witnessed frequent clashes involving Iranian security forces, terrorist groups, and drug traffickers.

This past May, five Iranian border guards lost their lives during confrontations with armed terrorists and anti-Islamic Revolution factions in Saravan's Maze-Sar region.

Similarly, in April, a high-ranking Iranian police officer was killed in a terrorist assault in the southeastern province when unknown attackers launched a surprise ambush against him.
