TEHRAN – Iranian freestyle wrestler Rahman Amouzad won a silver medal in the 2024 Olympic Games on Sunday.

Amouzad lost to Japanese Kotaro Kiyooka 10-3 in the final of the 65kg.

Amouzad started the campaign with an 8-0 win over American wrestler Zain Retherford.

The Iranian then beat Albanian representative Islam Dudaev 11-0 in quarterfinals and Hungarian Ismail Musukaev 10-0 in semifinal.

Iran’s Hassan Yazdani in 86kg and Amirhossein Zare in 125kg have previously won two silver medals.
