Swimmer Zeyghaminejad ready for 2024 Paralympics
TEHRAN – Iranian Para swimmer Sina Zeyghaminejad is well-prepared for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Zeyghaminejad and Shahin Izadyar will be Iran’s two representatives in Paris.
Zeyghaminejad, who won three gold medals in the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, is ready to compete in his first Paralympic Games.
“I know how difficult Paralympic is but I am determined to do my best in Paris,” he said in his exclusive interview with Tehran Times.
“I have been pushing hard in training for months and I am in my last training ahead of the Games. I cannot predict my result because the best swimmers of the world will try to win medal in the competition but I want to register my best records in Paris,” he added.
“I think Iran has so many talented swimmers but the officials must discover them. I traveled to South Korea for holding my training camp there and I believe that the swimmers can prepare for the competitions in our country but the infrastructure must be provided,” Zeyghaminejad concluded.
Swimming at the 2024 Paralympics will take place from Aug. 29 to Sept. 7. There will be 71 male, 64 female and 6 mixed open relays, this is five fewer events than in the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
