TEHRAN – Iran’s Farzaneh Fasihi failed to qualify for the women’s 100m final in the 2024 Olympic Games but she is satisfied with her performance.

Fasihi, known as wind’s daughter, came seventh with a time of 11.51 seconds.

Poland’s Ewa Swoboda finished in first place with 10.99, followed by Briton Asher-Smith and Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma with 11.01 and 11.26, respectively.

“It was my second Olympics and I have to say I am happy with my result. I competed with the sprinters who are favorites to win the medal,” Fasihi said.

“I took the first steps and hope the girls of the next generation can continue this path. I worked hard to get where I am and I will compete in the next Olympic Games if the people and federation support me,” she added.

Iran’s Hassan Taftian will compete in the men’s 100m on Saturday.
